Death of 10-day-old infant probed

Police investigating the death of a 10-day-old baby girl in Rawmarsh in South Yorkshire believe it may have been a tragic accident.

They were called to a house in Monkwood Road early on Monday after reports that the infant had stopped breathing.

Police said the death was being treated as suspicious as a matter of routine, but think it may have been an accident.

A 25-year-old woman, who was arrested in connection with the child's death, has since been released on bail.
