A youth has been charged with making a hoax call to the fire service which led to a fatal crash involving the fire engine responding to the 999 call.
Nicola Stacy, 36, died when her car collided with the engine on Attercliffe Common, Sheffield, on Sunday night. Her daughter, 10, was seriously injured.
The engine was making its way to reports of a warehouse fire in Rotherham, which police said was false. The boy, 17, is charged with making false reports to the fire service.
He will appear at Doncaster Youth Court on Tuesday morning.
Life-threatening injuries
The teenager is accused of making hoax calls on three occasions, Friday, Saturday and Sunday-when the collision took place.
Police said Ms Stacy, who was driving a blue Subaru Impreza, was from the Wincobank area.
Her daughter who was a front seat passenger, is being treated at Sheffield Children's Hospital for life-threatening injuries.
South Yorkshire Police said the collision happened near Meadowhall Shopping Centre, at its junction with Weedon Street, at around 2250 BST.
The firefighters on board the engine were said to be uninjured.
The spokeswoman added they had been offered counselling support from colleagues.
