Ian Stewart

A man was due to appear in court later charged with murder following the death of his neighbour in a street fight near Barnsley at the weekend.

Ian Stewart, 26, was injured in an incident near his home in New Street, Darfield, on Sunday night, said a South Yorkshire Police spokesman.

He was taken to Barnsley hospital where he was pronounced dead.

John Doran, 31, also of New Street, has been charged and will appear before magistrates in Barnsley on Wednesday.
