A 40-year-old man has been charged with murder after the death of a woman at a social club in South Yorkshire.

Officers were called to the Thorne Democratic Club in Thorne, near Doncaster, on Wednesday, where a 33-year-old woman was found dead.

A man was arrested at the scene and has now been charged. He is due to appear before Doncaster magistrates later.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out but the results have not been revealed.
