Pair charged with child's murder

Police investigating the death of a three-year-old girl in Sheffield have charged a man and a woman with murder and child cruelty.

Officers found the girl after being called to the Scarbrough Arms in Addy Street, Upperthorpe, Sheffield, in the early hours of 30 September.

The man and woman were arrested at the time and released on bail.

They were charged after being arrested again on Monday and are due to appear before Sheffield magistrates later.

South Yorkshire Police said an application would be made for the two to be remanded in custody.
