Cyclist injured in crash with car

A cyclist is in hospital with life-threatening head injuries after a collision with a car in Sheffield.

The 50-year-old man, from Pitsmoor, was in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra on Jenkin Road in the Wincobank area of Sheffield late on Sunday night.

Police said he was thrown across the car's bonnet. He was taken to the Northern General Hospital, where his condition is said to be stable.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
