Man charged over home explosives

A 27-year-old man has been charged with offences under the Explosives Act after a number of explosive devices were found at a house in South Yorkshire.

Arshid Yasin, of Cavendish Road, Rotherham, has been remanded by magistrates to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 21 August.

He was arrested at his home after officers were called to reports of a domestic incident on Wednesday.

The bomb squad was called when officers discovered explosive devices.

Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.

South Yorkshire Police said the incident was not linked to the terror alert.
