A fundraising drive for a new neonatal unit at Bath's Royal United Hospital has been given a cash boost.
The NHS has decided to give the appeal an extra £1.5m which means the fundraising efforts are 75% complete.
John Cullum, chairman of the Forever Friends Appeal, said work could now begin on the improvements.
Older buildings on the site will be demolished to make way for the new oncology centre, new wards with single rooms and the neonatal unit.
The redevelopment programme is expected to take about six years to complete.
