A teenage girl has been charged with assaulting three paramedics who were giving her treatment for a suspected overdose, police have said.

The 16-year-old was arrested after an ambulance was called to the High Street at Street in Somerset.

The girl who comes from the town is now due to appear before a youth court in Yeovil on 16 January.

The girl is facing three counts of common assault. Police said there had been a disagreement before the arrest.
