Schoolboy hit and killed by car

A 13-year-old boy was killed when he was hit by a car as he walked along a road in Somerset.

Police said Elliot Davies, from Wedmore, was on the B3151 in Wedmore when he was hit by a Citroen Saxo on Wednesday morning.

An air ambulance was called and the boy was flown to Bath's Royal United Hospital where he died.

The road has been closed between Wedmore and Westhay for police inquiries into the incident.

Police have also issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.
