Driver dies after coach collision

A man has died after a car and coach collided on the A358 near Hatch Beauchamp, Somerset.

The road was closed between the Thornfalcon traffic lights and the A303 roundabout at Southfield.

The collision was reported shortly before 1700 BST on Friday near to the Thornfalcon traffic lights.

A man who was reported to be trapped in the car was later confirmed dead at the scene. No-one from the coach is believed to have been injured.

Passengers were transferred to another coach.

The A358, which is the main route leading from the M5 to the A30, was closed for several hours while experts examined the site.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision.
