A seal pup is being cared for at an animal sanctuary after becoming stranded on a Somerset beach.

Staff at the Secret World Animal Sanctuary in Highbridge said they had no idea how he came to be washed up on the beach at Brean.

The pup is thought to be four months old. He will be taken care of until he is strong enough to be released.

Secret World specialises in the rescue, rehabilitation and release of orphaned and injured wild creatures.
