Driver trapped in crash wreckage

A driver had to be cut free by fire crews from the wreckage of a crash on the A367 in Somerset.

The vehicle was in collision with a lorry at Cricket St Thomas near Chard early on Thursday morning.

Cutting equipment was used to remove the roof and a door of the car to reach the casualty.

The driver's legs were trapped by the dashboard, which had to be lifted off, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.
