More improvements at Roman Baths

More improvements are to be carried out at Bath's Roman Baths.

Bath and North East Somerset Council has been given £90,000 towards the cost of improving access and redeveloping displays.

The council is spending more than £1m in total on improvements at the site, which is a scheduled ancient monument.

The grant was awarded by the Wolfson Fund/DCMS, which promotes improvements in museums and galleries across England.

Councillor David Hawkins said: "The plans for the Roman Baths will further improve an already exciting place to visit and help to maintain its standing as a leading visitor attraction, making Bath and North East Somerset an even better place to visit."

A new lift and staircase will be installed this financial year and the introductory and lower museum displays will be revamped.
