Young mother detains vandal pair

Nina Stevens

A young mother has spoken of the moment she detained two young vandals outside her house and kept them captive until police arrived.

Nina Stevens of Wellington Somerset caught the pair vandalising her car.

"I didn't think about it until I'd actually grabbed the boys and I thought, 'I am standing out here in my pyjamas and barefoot'," she said.

Police arrived and two youths aged 12 and 14 were arrested and charged with criminal damage.

Ms Stevens added: "My motherly instincts just took over and I frogmarched them back to the flat and called the police.

"I've promised I won't do it again, unless I wake my boyfriend up first."
