Woman dies after car leaves road

A 21-year-old woman from North Somerset has died after her car left the road and hit a tree.

Emergency services were called to the B3130 Tickenham Road in the early hours of Thursday after reports of the accident.

The woman, who lived in Clevedon, was treated by paramedics but died a short time later.

Witnesses to the incident which happened at 0040 BST, are asked to contact police.

The road was closed until 0600 BST to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.
