Teenage biker dies in collision

A 19-year-old motorcyclist has died when his bike was in collision with a car in Puriton, Somerset.

The bike was being ridden out of Puriton on the Woolavington Road at around 1430 BST on Sunday when it was involved in a head-on collision.

The rider suffered serious injuries as a result and was declared dead at the scene a short time later.

Woolavington Road, which links Puriton and Woolavington, was closed until shortly before 2000 BST on Sunday.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have been travelling in the area at the time.
