A boy who had his foot amputated last year has won his football team's Sportsman of the Year award.
Macauley Dempsey, 12, from Timsbury in Somerset, had 44 operations to correct his club foot before doctors decided amputation was the best solution.
He used to be in constant pain but since being fitted with a prosthetic leg a year ago he can play football.
Macauley will need more operations as he continues to grow and will need ongoing physiotherapy.
His mother, Sandra, said her son could not believe it when his name was called and he realised that he had won.
She said: "Every day when he gets up it's a new challenge. Now he has conquered this, it will be something else tomorrow. He has got the determination to carry on and on."
"Macauley said, 'but I've just done what every child would do' and that in itself was amazing for me."
