Jury retires in pub stabbing case

A jury at the trial of a teenager accused of stabbing a father-of-two outside a public house in Bath has retired to consider its verdict.

Paul Kelly, 32, was repeatedly stabbed in a alleyway to the rear of the Longacre Tavern in the early hours of 1 January 2007.

Post-mortem examinations revealed Mr Kelly died as a result of multiple stab wounds to the abdomen.

Nathan Dixon, 18, of Coxley Drive, Bath, denies murdering Mr Kelly.

The judge sent the jury home for the night on Wednesday afternoon.
