Visitors to Bath's Roman Baths will encounter costumed characters known from archaeological evidence to have visited the site.
Some of the characters already feature on the museum's award-winning children's audio tour.
They include Peregrinus, a traveller from Trier in the Rhineland, sculptor Sulinus and his father Brucetus.
They can be heard discussing building techniques and some of the 'newer' ideas brought in by Roman architects.
