A North Somerset hotel closed after two guests contracted legionnaires' disease has been given the all-clear to re-open after its water system was disinfected.
The Grand Atlantic hotel on Weston-super-Mare's seafront closed on 10 November after bacteria had been identified in water at the hotel.
During the closure, the plumbing was treated to remove all traces of legionella bacteria.
Environmental health staff continue to monitor the hotel's water supply.
A North Somerset Council spokeswoman said it had worked closely with the hotel to ensure any risk to health has been addressed.
"Specialist water companies have used complex procedures including the use of chlorine dioxide gas to ensure that the facilities are now safe for the public."
The hotel was scheduled to re-open on 23 December.
