Woman killed when car hits fence

A woman was killed when her car left the road and hit a fence.

Emergency crews were called to the A528, about half-a-mile outside Ellesmere in Shropshire, on Saturday morning, police said.

Officers found the car had crashed into a fence and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the car, the spokesman added.

An investigation has begun and any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact police.
