Death inquiry nightclub to reopen

Darren Griffiths

A nightclub that has been closed since a disturbance led to a man's death is to partly reopen.

Liquid and Diva in Shrewsbury shut following the death of 41-year-old Darren Griffiths during the early hours of 29 June.

Tony Mantle, police licensing officer for Shropshire, said talks had been held with club owners.

Diva will reopen on 24 July but the Liquid part of the nightspot will remain closed for the time being.

A club spokesman said the company is co-operating fully with the police.

Two people have been charged with murder following Mr Griffith's death.
