Eight-mile detour for flood works

An eight-mile detour will be in place in Shropshire from next week as work to reduce the risk of flooding begins.

The A442 between Bridgnorth and Telford will be closed at Norton for nearly three weeks.

Shropshire Council said drainage work would be carried out during the closure.

Traffic will be diverted along the Bridgnorth to Wolverhampton Road to the Royal Oak at Rudge Heath and then to Sutton Maddock.
