Major roadworks planned for A49

Major roadworks are planned for the A49 in Shropshire next month.

The Highways Agency said it was commissioning drainage and resurfacing work in Dorrington, near Shrewsbury, and through Limes Paddock.

It said the work would be done during off-peak times between 0930 GMT and 2000 GMT to minimise disruption.

Roadworks are due to start on 2 February and are expected to continue for about three months on both sides of the dual carriageway.

The road will be closed for resurfacing work overnight and full details of the works including the proposed diversion routes are due to go on display at Dorrington Village Hall on 14 January.
