Two war medals were left in a Shropshire pub, possibly by someone who had taken part in a Remembrance Day event, police said.
A bronze service medal from World War I and a silver defence medal from World War II were found in the Bull Inn, Shrewsbury, on 12 November.
Both were in a small black bag, similar to a pencil case, which also contained medal ribbons.
The medals are now at the property office at Shrewsbury Police Station.
The bronze service medal has the words "The Great War for Civilisation" on it and was awarded to a Private W J Brown, whose name is etched on the rim.
Police said it is possible they belong to someone who visited the town or someone local who had attended an event.
