Four armed men break into house

An armed gang broke into a house and demanded money off the male and female occupants before fleeing with £40.

Four men, dressed in dark clothing with scarves and tights over their heads, briefly discussed taking the man, aged 20, with them, police said.

They had burst into the house in Donnington, Telford, Shropshire, on Thursday evening.

One offender, brandishing a handgun, grabbed the man and asked for money. The others carried crowbars or bats.

Det Sgt Jo Keenan, from West Mercia Police, said people may have seen the men escaping as they left on foot.

'Very frightened'

"This is a nasty incident and the two victims are extremely shaken by it," she said.

"Although no direct threats were made to the victims, it goes without saying they were very frightened when confronted by the men.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the gang of men close to this address or anyone who witnessed anything suspicious last night in this area of Donnington."
