Residents whose gardens were damaged when contaminated soil was removed are to be given money for repairs.
The land, on Minsterley Road in Pontesbury, Shropshire, was once used for smelting lead and contained high levels of the metal and arsenic.
Eight gardens were affected and work involved digging up ponds, driveways, and plants and demolishing sheds.
Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council is expected to approve a sum of £40,000 to be shared out among the residents.
