Work to start on freight terminal

Work on the last phase of a multi-million pound rail freight terminal in Shropshire will start soon.

The complex in Donnington, next to an industrial development, is expected to be completed by December and will open early next year.

Once open, the terminal is expected to handle 750,000 tonnes of goods a year.

Telford council environment spokesman Stephen Bentley said it was "great news" for the area. Work on the final stage will start on 2 June.
