£1m fund for firms to go green

Minister Liam Byrne

The West Midlands Minister Liam Byrne has announced a £1m grant for small and medium sized firms who want to invest in renewable energy.

The Re:think Energy grant was unveiled at the official opening of Shrewsbury's Environmental Technology Centre.

The centre has recently been awarded the highest possible environmental rating for a building.

The Re:think Energy scheme will also be offering training to companies which are keen to reduce carbon footprints.
