Children's contributions marked

A scheme started last year to celebrate the contributions of children and young people in an area of Shropshire is being repeated by a council.

Parents, teachers and community leaders were asked to submit nominations at a stand in Telford on Saturday.

A special magazine showcasing the achievements is due out this autumn, Telford and Wrekin Council said.

Everyone featured will be nominated for an award at a 2009 Active Involvement Service ceremony.

The council had asked anyone who wanted to nominate a young person or a group to visit the stand in Deans Square in Telford town centre on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 May.
