Man's body found lying in street

The body of a man has been discovered on a street in Shropshire.

Emergency services were called to Salisbury Road, Market Drayton, early on Saturday after the body was found by a member of the public.

A West Mercia Police spokeswoman said the body of the man, believed to be in his late teens to late 20s, had yet to be identified.

She added police are treating it as an unexplained death. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

An ambulance spokesman said: "Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
