People in Shropshire have been warned to prepare for flooding over the next few days with more heavy rainfall forecast, the Environment Agency said.
The agency believes flooding is likely to occur on the Severn and its tributaries north of Shrewsbury.
Flood forecasting team leader, Richard Cross, said: "The weather forecast for the next few days is not looking good.
"We are expecting more very heavy rainfall. We are urging people to be vigilant."
He added: "We are putting our plans in place, in case. We are monitoring the situation around the clock and will issue flood watches and warnings wherever possible to affected areas.
"But flooding cannot be completely prevented and people can help to reduce the damage and distress if they prepare. They need to act now."
Roads closed
Flood defences are in place in Frankwell in Shrewsbury and on The Wharfage in Ironbridge.
A decision on whether to close Frankwell car park because of rising river levels would be taken on Saturday morning, borough council parking manager Sandy Harper said.
Sydney Avenue and Gravel Hill Lane in Shrewsbury are closed because of flooding, as are Doctor's Lane and Severnside South in Bridgnorth.
The Wharfage in Ironbridge is closed to traffic, but the shops are still open.
The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for the River Severn from Buildwas to Coalport, including Ironbridge and Jackfield.
Flood watches are in place for the rest of the River Severn through Shropshire, the Tern, Perry, Roden, Strine and Meese tributaries and the Vyrnwy confluence.
