Bodie the parrot a Simpsons fan

Bodie the parrot A new resident at a care home is causing a flap by repeatedly singing the theme tune to the Simpsons.

Bodie the parrot was given to Bennett House in Telford, Shropshire, and has also tricked staff by mimicking the telephone and calling out names.

The African Grey has been meowing at cats and barking at dogs in the few weeks he has been at the home.

Senior care worker, Lisa Johnson said: "He is very popular and the residents love him."

Bodie's original owner died and a relative took him on but felt she could not give him the attention he deserved and gave him to the home when they advertised for a bird to fill their cage.

"He also sings the McDonald's theme tune and we've taught him to say 'Bodie Power'," said Lisa.

"It drives you mad sometimes when you're working in the office and he's mimicking the phone and I'm picking it up thinking someone is calling and it's Bodie."
