School football parking dropped

Plans for match-day parking at a school, for Shrewsbury Town football supporters going to their new stadium, have been dropped.

Some residents living near to The Priory School were not happy about extra traffic under plans for fans to park-and-ride to the New Meadow.

The Priory, on Longden Road, said the scheme would have generated more money to lease a minibus for the school.

The club is now talking to Shropshire County Council about other options.
