Charity superstore plan rejected

A charity based in Wolverhampton has lost its fight to open a superstore in Telford, Shropshire.

Telford and Wrekin Council has thrown out Compton Hospice's plans to use the site of a former garage on Stafford Park in the town.

The Severn Hospice had said it would affect its attempts to raise money.

Compton's manager, Sue Chance, said: "It's going to be an enormous loss to Telford. I think they (Severn Hospice) will realise we've all missed out."
