Pensioner punched by hooded men

Two hooded men punched an elderly man before running away with his wallet.

The attack took place in Leegomery, Telford, Shropshire as the man, in his 70s, was getting into his silver Mini car in Leicester Way.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said the two men, thought to be in their 20s, came up to him, threatened him and then hit him.

They ran off towards Leegomery Pools with the wallet which contained money and personal possessions.

The victim was more shaken by the incident than physically hurt and did not require treatment.
