Man's skull fractured in attack

A man has suffered a fractured skull in an attack on a street in Oxford.

The 29-year-old victim was walking down Blackbird Leys Road with his girlfriend in the early hours of Saturday when he was assaulted.

A man came up behind him and hit him over the head before running away, police said.

The couple were near the Blackbird Leys pub when the incident took place. Officers are appealing for witnesses to the attack to come forward.
