A man who admitted murdering his wife at their Oxfordshire home has been jailed for life.
Sughra Rani, 30, was found dead by police at their house in Mold Crescent, Banbury, in September last year.
Mohammed Rashid, 35, of the same address, pleaded guilty to her murder, during a court hearing in December.
The judge at Oxford Crown Court told Rashid he would spend a minimum of 13 years and 10 months in jail before being eligible for parole.
Speaking outside the court, Det Ch Insp Colin Seaton, who led the investigation, said Ms Rani's death was tragic.
He said: "Nobody deserves to die in such a brutal and callous way and Mr Rashid must now face the consequences of his actions.
"Her family have expressed that Sughra Rani was a wonderful mother and her children miss her greatly."
