Man charged over woman set alight

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman who was doused in petrol and set on fire.

Ambulance crews were called to a house in Drayman's Walk, Abingdon, on Tuesday night to treat a 40-year-old woman for life-threatening burns.

The victim suffered extensive injuries and is currently in a serious condition in hospital.

Mark Bray, from Parsons Mead in Abingdon, will appear before Didcot Magistrates' Court later.

A 38-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail.
