Girl killed in two-vehicle crash

A teenage girl died after the Ford Ka she was travelling in collided with a Toyota Avensis near Oxford.

The crash happened on the A34 northbound entry slip road at Gosford, Kidlington, at 1900 GMT on Monday.

The girl sustained serious injures and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford, but died later.

Police are keen to speak to two men who stopped to help after the crash. A driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Emergency services attended for about four hours and the A34 was closed while accident investigators examined the scene.

PC Peter Emery, who is investigating the crash, said: "I am keen to speak to anyone who might have seen the collision or the cars being driven beforehand.

"In particular, there were two men who stopped to help at the time of the collision and I urge them, or anyone else who might have any information, to contact me."
