Cat found hanged with shoelaces

A cat has been found strangled with a pair of shoelaces in Oxford, the RSPCA has said.

The animal's body was discovered hanging from a garden post in Birchfield Close last Friday evening.

The RSCPA said it was looking for the animal's owner and appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

"Whoever tied the cat up must have realised she would try to escape and probably injure or kill herself," RSPCA Inspector Will Rippon said.

"We need to find who is behind this incident and we'd also like to trace the cat's owner, as they must be very worried about their pet and wonder why she hasn't come home."
