Power restored to cut-off homes

Power supplies have been restored to more than 7,000 homes in south Oxfordshire after the electricity supply was disrupted.

It is believed a contractor brought down the high voltage overhead power line in the Milton area just before 1000 BST on Wednesday morning.

Engineers from Southern Electric have rerouted supplies around the damaged area to restore the network.

It warns that anyone planning work near overhead lines should contact them.
