Protestors against plans for an energy-from-waste (EfW) incinerator in Oxfordshire have used lasers to project their message into the night sky.
An image reading "no incinerator" was beamed onto a cooling tower at Didcot power station on Monday evening.
The stunt was followed by a public meeting at Sutton Courtenay village hall attended by about 200 residents.
Oxfordshire County Council is considering two bids to build an incinerator in the county.
It would be placed at existing landfill sites either at Sutton Courtenay or Ardley.
The meeting was addressed by planning consultant Alan Watson.
Generate electricity
Sue Braden, from the action group Sutton Courtenay Against the Incinerator, said: "It [the incinerator] will have an enormous visual impact.
"All our historic and beautiful landscape will be dominated by this very large building."
Waste Recycling Group wants to build at Sutton Courtenay while Viridor has plans for Ardley, near Bicester.
Up to 300,000 tonnes a year would be incinerated to generate electricity.
The council invited bids as part of its strategy to dispose of residual waste over the next 25 years.
