One dead and one hurt after crash

One pedestrian was killed and another was seriously injured when a car collided with them on the A338.

The collision happened on the A338 Oxford Road in East Hanney, Wantage, Oxford, early on Sunday morning.

A Renault Clio was travelling towards Frilford when it collided with the two pedestrians, who were among a group of seven walking in the same direction.

A 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, the other pedestrian, 18, was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital.

Sgt Bill Sykes, from Thames Valley Police, said: "There may have been people that could have seen the group of men walking along the road or the car being driven before the collision and I urge anyone with any information to contact me."
