Murder inquiry woman identified

Bell Lane

A 47-year-old woman from Oxfordshire who was murdered has been identified by police.

Deborah Smith, of Bell Lane, Wheatley, was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital with a serious neck injury but was pronounced dead on arrival.

When police were called to an address after reports of an altercation between a woman and a man, they found a man, 49, outside also with a neck injury.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with Monday's incident.

The man's injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place.
