Missing assault charge man held

Mahesh Bennett A man who failed to turn up in court after being charged with assaulting a woman has been re-arrested.

Mahesh Bennett, 22, was charged in connection with the attack in Oxford on 24 November 2007.

He was due at Oxford Magistrates Court on Monday but failed to turn up, a Thames Valley Police spokesman said.

Mr Bennett was re-arrested in the Blackbird Leys area of Oxford and is due to appear before Oxford Magistrates Court on Saturday.
