Cab driver injured as taxi stolen

The man was forced out of his vehicle which was then driven off by the passenger who drove over his foot.

The incident began when four men pushed ahead in a taxi queue in Market Square, Bicester, and got into the car, causing offence to two other people waiting.

The cab driver was treated by paramedics at the scene and his car, a Fiat Scudo, was later found abandoned in Caversfield.

Det Con Graeme Johnson, of Cherwell police, said: "We need to clarify exactly what happened here and who was responsible for the dreadful way this cabbie was treated.

"If you were in the taxi queue on Market Hill when this incident happened, or saw the Fiat Scudo being abandoned, we would be very keen to hear from you."
