Fire in 17th-century thatched pub

Fire at The Perch, courtesy of Chris Dale More than 80 firefighters have been battling to save a 17th-century thatched pub in Oxford.

Eyewitnesses called emergency services on Tuesday after spotting flames at The Perch, in Binsey.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said there were no injuries and that the cause of the blaze was unknown.

They said "thousands of pounds worth of property" had been saved from the building. Fire crews were expected to stay at the address overnight.
