Jail sentence for pub attack man

A Nottingham man has been jailed for six years for attacking a stranger with a pool cue, causing him to lose an eye.

Shane Richards, 20, from Lime Tree Road, admitted wounding 31-year-old Darren Oleszynski with intent at the Chequers Pub in Hucknall in January.

Nottingham Crown Court heard Richards was a known troublemaker who had been barred from other pubs in the area.

The judge, who described it as a wholly unprovoked attack, said Mr Oleszynski faced further reconstructive surgery.
